Contact Us

Our new Contact Form is on our website under the 'Contact Us' menu item, or it can be accessed by clicking here. This is the best way to communicate directly with us.

Part of our strategy to help students catch-up is to set regular homework.  All homework will be detailed on Epraise and staff will record whether or not a student hands in the work.  Parents / Carers can access Epraise here.

Homework will be set according to the attached timetable.

Parents and carers play an essential role in their child’s learning and can assist with their homework in the following ways:

  • Use Epraise to check what homework your child has been set; your child may need some support to organise their time in order to meet deadlines.
  • Speak with your child about the homework they have been set and how this links to what they are learning in school.
  • Check your child has completed their homework and encourage them to complete it to the best of their ability.
  • Support your child to develop effective study habits by working in a quiet environment free from distractions such as mobile phones and social media.
  • Encourage your child to ask for help with homework if they need it by speaking with their teachers directly.
  • Contact your child’s Form Tutor if your child is having difficulties with their homework.

PE Kit

Year 10

As part of our gradual easing of restrictions from Monday 26th April, Year 10 students should attend school in their full uniform each day.  They will use the changing rooms to change into their PE kit for their practical lessons.  A reminder that the Deanes PE kit consists of:

  • Deanes polo top and/or hoodie.
  • Blue or navy leggings, shorts or jogging bottoms.
  • Plain Blue or black hoodie/jumper.

May I take this opportunity to remind you that if your child's PE kit is being washed then a suitable replacement kit, for example plain black or blue t-shirt, is acceptable as long as the student has an accompanying letter from home.

Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9

Students should attend school wearing their PE kit on the days they are timetabled for PE lessons.

I would like to reinforce that only the following items are acceptable for PE kit;

  • Deanes polo top and/or hoodie.
  • Blue or navy leggings, shorts or jogging bottoms.
  • Plain Blue or black hoodie/jumper.

The hoodie must not be worn in place of a blazer except from the day that students have PE.

In order to ensure our children are safe, the school gates will be closed each day at 14:15 and will not open until the buses have left the site at approximately 15:05, (this will be one hour later on a Monday).  I understand that this may inconvenience some of you, but the safety of the children is my paramount concern.

Can I please remind you that should you choose to park outside the school on Daws Heath Road, that you do so safely, as there is very little space and be considerate of the residents who live along the road.

I appreciate your support in this matter.

Message from Essex Police

Please find attached some information from Essex Police's Serious Crime Directorate (SCD – if you like an acronym and are a fan of 'Line of Duty'), it contains useful information in relation to catalytic convertor theft.

I hope you have a lovely weekend.
