'Tech Will Save Us'

23 March 2017

On the 23rd March, the students in both Years 9 and 10 on the Achieve programme with the Prince’s Trust, came off timetable for the day to participate in an exciting project to make their own speakers.

We welcomed Sophie Pendrell, Creative Director and her colleague from ‘Tech Will Save Us’ a company whose mission is ‘to spark the creative imagination of young people using hands on technology’.

Our groups had been especially selected by Melita Ferizovic, Programme Executive for the Achieve Programme in Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex for this project so we all felt honoured to have been chosen.  It was especially pleasing to have Melita with us for the day.

Following a demonstration on how to solder the various component parts, students worked independently on creating their own speakers.  You can imagine how thrilled they were at the end of the day when they tested them, AND THEY WORKED!!  Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience and we hope to be involved in similar projects in future.
