Voice in a Million

8 March 2017

On Wednesday 8th March, Mrs Halliday and Mrs Harrison had the pleasure of accompanying the choir to Voice In a Million at Wembley Arena.
Over 5000 students from schools all over the country singing and dancing together to  a whole variety of pop songs.
After second lesson Deanes students boarded the minibus and headed off and after a drive around the A406 we arrived at Wembley Arena and took our seats. The Deanes Choir were excited and ready with the banner were veteran VIAMers AJ Spicer and Amy Johnston who accompanied by Jaque Taylor-Beal went up over the stage proudly displaying The Deanes banner.
After a rehearsal of some of the numbers and dance routines we didn't have long to wait till the doors opened and all the parents and friends flooded into the arena.
Voice in a Million was set up to give children the opportunity sing but also with an under-pinning message that raises awareness of the plight of children in care and the importance of Adoption and Fostering, both in the UK and worldwide. Every student in Wembley wears a white t-shirt to symbolise the children in the world who still don't have parents.
The concert was great success and every Deanes student sung with pride, even Mrs Harrison and Mrs Halliday had a boogie.
Well done to everyone who came along and we are already looking forward to next year.
