The Remembrance Day Crochet Class
This November the Deanes school was very lucky to have Sandy Adams from Bodkins Yarn shop of Thundersly visit. Throughout the morning she taught Year 8 students how to create three different crochet stitches and connect them to form beautiful poppies, the symbol of remembrance. The students really excelled producing beautiful pieces of work them adorning them with black buttons and badge backs ready for wearing. Teachers were particularly impressed as it usually takes adults a minimum of 10 hours to master the stitches before they then go on to create pieces such as the poppy. All students went home with a beautifully hand crocheted poppy to represent the fallen.
