Our pastoral team provides excellent care, guidance and support to our students. The team supports all students, closely monitoring academic progress and acting swiftly to implement interventions to maintain progress.
The pastoral systems are led by Directors of Key Stage. Each Director of Key Stage has responsibility for their year group’s on a day to day basis, monitoring all aspects of a student’s experience including attendance, behaviour and academic progress. Form Tutors meet with their Tutor Group every day and are your first point of contact and a key provider of student support.
In addition to this and working in conjunction with the pastoral team, The Deanes has highly effective support from our SENCO, Access to Learning Manager and our Attendance Officer. We also work closely with a number of external agencies to ensure that our pastoral support is effective and takes into account the individual needs of every student.
If you have any concerns or questions regarding your child’s welfare or conduct they should be addressed to your child’s Form Tutor or Director of Key Stage in the first instance. Please be aware that staff may be teaching and are unlikely to be able to see you immediately. It is therefore best to telephone and make an appointment if you need to meet with anyone from the Pastoral Support Team.
